Mech-a!
Equipped with only the most explosive doses of drum ‘n’ bass to melt minds, DJ Mech is out to rep the hard-hitting genre until his fingers fall off. How dope and dedicated is Mech? How is drum ’n‘ bass like religion to the 24-year-old, you ask?
A year ago he became a member of Audiolab, the strongest drum ’n‘ bass collective of DJs and MCs in Hawai‘i. Today he is the group’s leader.
“There are new heads in the scene that don’t know anything about drum ’n‘ bass or dub step or breaks,” he said. “They think electronic music is just trance, house and techno. But kids, there’s lot more than you think.”
While opportunity and exposure is key, as long as Mech is up in the electronic dance music mix, drum ’n‘ bass will always remain relevant. He’ll make sure of that.
